About Reverse Osmosis
City water treatment removes dirt and debris while adding chlorine to prevent the spread of diseases, producing unpleasant taste and odor in municipal water. However, it does not remove the dissolved minerals and contaminants from the water. With the increasing pollution of our surface and ground water with natural or man-made contaminants such as nitrates, perchlorates, and pesticides, it is more important than ever to have a way to remove them at the point of use. The Standard Filtration System first uses a sediment filter to remove particles such as sand and rust as small as 5-microns. The second-stage activated-carbon filter eliminates chlorine and its taste and odor. The Reverse Osmosis filtration system removes an average of 95% of dissolved contaminants and minerals from the water at the molecular level including those that cause scale deposits.
