Product Overview
Enjoy sparkling fresh, spring-like water from every tap in your home with our WH-150K Whole House Water Filter System.
The WH-150K Whole House Water Filter – 150,000 gallon Point of Entry water filter system is ideal for apartments, condominiums, or waitress stations in diners and restaurants.
The WH-150K is a Point of Entry (POE), whole home water filtration system. You can expect fresh, filtered water from every tap in your home. From showering in chlorine-free water to preparing beverages that are more enjoyable and taste natural, you’ll notice an immediate difference in your water. And, with a whole-home system, there’ll be no more need to carry home or bring in bottled water. The WH-150K is designed to last for THREE (3) full years and to filter up to 150,000 gallons of water!
The Z-1 Dual Media in the WH-150K Whole House Water Filter is a combination of KDF-55 and coconut shell granulated carbon. Z-1 is unparalleled in chlorine removal and heavy metal reduction. Consisting of a high purity copper-zinc formula, it’s an NSF approved media that drastically extends the life of a carbon-based filter. It is 100% recyclable and has no chemical additives.
KDF 55 Media is used in chlorine removal applications in conjunction with granular activated carbon. KDF 55 strips the chlorine from the water before the water contacts the carbon. The carbon, not being burdened with the job of chlorine removal, is then free to perform higher levels of filtration including the removal of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and Trihalomethanes (THM’s). Using KDF-55 in conjunction with granular activated carbon significantly extends the life of the media rather than just using carbon alone. What does that mean?… No back-washing is required and longer service runs (3 YEARS) before the replacement of the media is required.
3 Stages of Filtration in the WH-150K Whole House Water Filtration System
- Stage 1 – Pre-Filter – 20-micron polyspun sediment cartridge – Raw water enters a 20-micron pre-filter cartridge to remove any heavy sediment. Replace every 6 months.
-
Stage 2 – Z-1 Dual Media | KDF-55 & Carbon – As the water leaves the pre-filter, it travels into the distributor-head and is dispersed through the KDF media which removes contaminants such as chlorine, lead, and other heavy metals. Volatile organic chemicals (VOCs) such as THM’s bad tastes and odors are removed by adsorption into the bed of granular activated carbon (GAC). The water continues down through the media and into a strainer basket, then up through a riser tube to the final stage.
Replace every 3 years. -
Stage 3 – Post-Filter – 5-micron polyspun cartridge – Finally, the filtered water exits the main chamber and passes through a 5-micron post-filter which catches any carbon fines that might leave the unit upon initial flush.
Replace every 6 months.
The WH-150K drinking water filtration systems are manufactured and contain ingredients that are recognized as safe by both the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The WH-150K whole house water filtration systems contain KDF-55 which is certified to ANSI/NSF 61 for drinking water system components (health effects). These systems are also certified to the requirements of some states.
